Anybody else’s brain ever just decide it’s time to panic for no reason? Like everything is fine on the outside but inside you’re bracing for something bad? Yeah, me too. I lived in that for years and didn’t even realize it was happening. I was always preparing for the worst.
Here’s the thing nobody told me. Fear isn’t always about what’s happening right now. Sometimes it’s your body remembering something old and getting ready in case it happens again. That’s why it can hit out of nowhere, even when nothing is wrong.
And listen, I’m not saying fear isn’t real. It is SO real. But a lot of times we’re carrying old fear into new days and wondering why we can’t relax. Your body’s not crazy and you are not crazy. It’s been trying to protect you. But you don’t have to keep living in that protection mode forever.
And most of us don’t even realize that many of the triggers – things that set us off – are tied to a subconscious fear. Start to recognize this week if there are things that really trigger you and get you upset, if there is a real underlying fear about something deeper.
Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
